The Freelance Production Manager plays a critical role in supporting daily studio operations ensuring seamless execution across multiple studios and control rooms. This position serves as a central point of coordination between production operations engineering and support teams in a fast-paced live television environment.
Responsibilities:
Oversee operational workflows formultiple studio and control room crews
Act as a primary liaison betweenOperations Production Facilities Assignment Desk and Marketing teams
Collaborate closely withTalent Producers Directors and technical staffto communicate updates and resolve issues in real time
Partner withEngineering teamsto ensure rapid resolution of technical challenges
Support production teams in executingcreative elements(props VIP guests special segments)
Manage and overseedaily studio set changesacross multiple spaces
Assistwithcrew scheduling including development of Studio Crew Break Sheets
Mentor and trainnew Operations team memberson processes and best practices
Maintain a strong focus onorganization execution and follow-throughin a live production setting
Qualifications and Skills:
510 years of experiencein sports or live television operationsrequired
Experience managing teams or workforces in a production or operational environment
Strong understanding oflive and pre-recorded studio production workflows
Knowledge of baseball and hockey strongly preferred
Exceptional attention to detail with strong multitasking ability
Proven leadership communication and relationship-building skills
Ability to prioritize effectively and maintain accountability
Strong problem-solving skills with a calm decisive approach under pressure
Demonstrated ability to adapt in fast-paced breaking news environments
High level of professionalism tact and diplomacy
Passion for operations logistics and production excellence
Proactive mindset with the ability to anticipate and solve challenges
Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights weekends and holidays
Strong follow-up skills and commitment to execution
Experience with Media Pulse or similar production systems is a plus
Education:
Bachelors degree inMedia Television/Film Productionor related field preferred
Position Reports to:
Director Studio Operations & Scheduling
Pay Range: $480/day
