This is a non-union positionStep into a critical hands-on role where your expertise directly supports the safe reliable operation of pipeline systems. As a Field Operator II youll perform complex maintenance respond to high-priority situations and help protect people communities and the environmentwhile working across mainline piping terminals and station facilities. Your work will play a key role in ensuring operational excellence and regulatory compliance every day.
What you will do:
Perform high-risk high-value pipeline maintenance and repairs (including emergency repairs and open system work) in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
Inspect operate and maintain pipeline systems and equipment including valves buried pipe and pigging operations while troubleshooting and resolving issues in the field.
Support damage prevention activities by responding to one-calls completing line locates and safely monitoring third-party excavation and pipeline crossings.
Execute regulatory and preventative maintenance programs including inspections calibrations quality control sampling and facility security checks.
Lead safe work execution by completing hazard assessments issuing work permits applying energy isolation (LOTO) and maintaining strict adherence to safety standards.
Respond to emergencies along the pipeline corridor supporting containment repair cleanup and preventative actions to mitigate risk to people and the environment.
Collaborate with contractors regulators and internal teams represent the company professionally and provide leadership and oversight when required.
What you have:
High school diploma or equivalent.
1-2 years of applicable training or experience.
Basic understanding and use of computers.
Must have a valid drivers license a good driving record.
DOT Medical Certification Card or eligibility to acquire.
Preferred:
1-2 years of experience in operations or maintenance for a crude oil pipeline tank farm or delivery facility is preferred.
Working Conditions:
Work takes place in both field and office settings with regular travel that sometimes requires overnight lodging.
Regular travel along the pipeline right of way and to construction locations.
Overtime and flexibility when required to manage multiple projects emergency response operations adverse weather conditions work priorities fieldwork schedules and out-of-town travel.
Shifting priorities to meet changing directions.
Position may require quick decision-making under intense conditions. Position also requires a working knowledge of field and office diplomacy and maintaining relationships with external collaborators.
Works independently with little day-to-day direction.
Time commitments may extend beyond normal working hours.
Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:
Grasping kneeling light moderate lifting (objects up to 50 pounds) reaching above shoulder repetitive motion typing sitting standing visual requirement (able to see screens detect color coding read fine print) hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.
Mental Requirements (Both Field & Office) include but are not limited to:
Ability to: understand remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines complete routine forms compose letters outlines memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
