Boeing Global Services (BGS) is seeking a Program Manager to join our USN F/A-18 Super Hornet Sustainment portfolio in Berkeley MO.

This position offers a unique opportunity to lead a high-performing team responsible for the execution and business leadership of delivering Flight Control Surfaces to the United States Navy fleet of F/A-18 Super Hornet and EA-18 Growler aircraft. With the wind down of F/A-18 production the selected candidate will work closely with BDS and BGS management peers to ensure a smooth transition to the F/A-18 IRT portfolio.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage cross-functional teams including Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to ensure alignment and execution of program objectives driving accountability and fostering a high-performance culture grounded in Boeing values.
  • Integrate program customer product and in-service strategies into source selection negotiation and contracting approaches ensuring compliance with company policies Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee supplier management activities including supply and demand planning quality assurance delivery performance and financial metrics; lead supplier performance teams to develop and implement strategic improvement initiatives.
  • Manage program-level Risk Issue and Opportunity (RIO) processes facilitating timely identification mitigation and escalation of risks and issues across the program lifecycle to support proactive decision-making.
  • Coordinate and establish program operating rhythms governance structures and communication plans to ensure transparency and effective stakeholder engagement across internal teams suppliers and government customers.
  • Lead the preparation and coordination of new business estimates schedules and proposals by collaborating with Contracts Supplier Management Engineering and Finance to support strategic growth and profitability.
  • Provide strategic input during annual planning cycles and long-range business planning exercises partnering with divisional leadership and functional counterparts to align program strategies with corporate objectives.
  • Mentor develop and motivate team members to achieve full stakeholder commitments on schedule and within budget while promoting an inclusive environment that supports career growth and knowledge sharing.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader temp manager large scale cross functionalproject/program management or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course Exploring Leadership.
  • Bachelors degree required; advanced degree preferred in Business Engineering Supply Chain or related field
  • 5 years experience in a role requiring project / program management skills
  • 5 years experience executing complex contracts and subcontracts with strong knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Firm Fixed Price Cost Plus Performance Based Logistics (PBL) Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) and/ or Transactional contracts
  • 5 years experience in Program Management Best Practices (i.e. Requirements Management Resource Management Integrated Planning and Scheduling Financial Oversight Earned Value Management (EVM) Program Performance Management Supplier Integration RIO (Risk Issue Opportunity) Management Program Communication Senior Leadership Reviews etc.)
  • Experience working with U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) customers

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with U.S. Department of Defense contracts including contracts and familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) and Truth in Negotiations Act (TINA) compliance.
  • Proven supplier management and procurement experience including negotiating competitive government procurements and managing major U.S. Government and commercial subcontracts.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional matrixed teams in complex aerospace or defense environments with experience coaching guiding and developing team members.
  • Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies and exposure to digital transformation or operational technology implementations to drive program efficiencies.
  • Strong program management expertise including use of industry-standard tools and platforms (e.g. ESGP BORIS) with certifications such as PMP or Program Management Certification highly desirable.
  • Experience supporting military platforms particularly within the Fixed Wing Strike market including execution of aircraft modifications upgrades and Performance Based Logistics (PBL) contracts.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to build and sustain strategic relationships with internal stakeholders military customers (U.S. and foreign) suppliers and executive leadership.
  • Strategic and systems-thinker with a proactive mindset strong business and contract acumen and the ability to translate strategy into actionable plans while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Travel:
Up to 15% domestic travel expected to production sites suppliers and customers
