About the Role
At Rent the Runway we believe getting dressed should be a joyful empowering experience. As an Engineering Manager on our Subscriber Retention team youll play a key role in shaping how our users discover engage with and fall in love with our platform. Youll lead a team dedicated to creating delightful seamless and personalized experiences that help our members feel confident and supportedwhether theyre getting ready for a special occasion or planning their everyday wardrobe.

About the Team
Youll manage one of two engineering teams focused on subscriber acquisition and activation. Our work spans personalization onboarding funnel optimization and SEO/AEO/ASO - always with the goal of making our customer journey more intuitive delightful and sticky. We operate across NYC and Galway and youll collaborate with a global cross-functional group including Product Design Revenue and Marketing.
What Youll Do
- Guide and grow a high performing collaborative team of software engineers (front-end back-end full-stack and mobile).
- Lead technical planning and project delivery and champion engineering practices for high-impact consumer-facing initiatives.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to prioritize and deliver work that supports both customer needs and business goals.
- Foster a culture of psychological safety learning and continuous feedback.
- Support the career development and wellbeing of your team members.
- Partner with peers and senior leadership to shape long-term strategy and engineering excellence.
About You
- You have hands-on technical leadership and/or people management experience as well as delivering impactful consumer products.
- Youre passionate about designing systems and experiences that are resilient scalable and user-centered.
- Youve worked with agile teams and know how to prioritize in fast-moving environments.
- You enjoy mentoring and creating opportunities for others to grow.
- You have a strong command of best practices design patterns and system architecture tradeoffs.
- Youre a clear thoughtful communicator who values empathy and collaboration.
- Bonus: Experience working in e-commerce/fashion or B2C subscriptions at scale.

The anticipated base salary for this position is $148K to $185K. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors including without limitation the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position years of relevant experience level of education attained certifications or other professional licenses held. This position is also eligible for equity compensation.
