Title: Document Control Specialist I
Position Description
Assist County personnel/plan checkers/permit technicians in processing and facilitating public inquiries and plan check submissions and other general correspondence.
Perform screening of permit applications for completeness Title 24 architectural/structural requirements etc.
Assist in tracking submission backlogs and provide current status of submitted plans/submissions.
Establish and maintain a project document filing system in accordance with established County procedures.
Prepare reports in accordance with established County procedures and forms.
Enter and track the following documents: plan submittals permit applications internal performance of review times and plans status payment status.
Document Controller maintains all logs.
Establish and maintain hard file systems.
Knowledge and experience with SharePoint and ShareFile is preferred.
Hardware/Software Knowledge
Must be proficient in using Microsoft Office software (Excel Word Outlook PowerPoint ShareDrive OneDrive Teams).
Strong in Excel use and spreadsheets is a must.
Professional Experience Level/Other Quali cations
Minimum Five (5) years of document control experience in the construction field.
Must be detail oriented with effective organization and coordination skills.
Must have ability to interface and communicate effectively with others and have a positive attitude.
Experience with public agencies.
Experience in preparing and reviewing written correspondences for formatting punctuation and grammar.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
Ability to handle changing and increasing workload.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in reading construction plan is preferred.
On the job experience with OneDrive and/or other digital platforms is a plus.
Knowledge/use of other Project Control Software is a plus but not necessary
Compensation
This role is salaried/exempt with a base annual salary range of $75000.00 - $78800.00 and commensurate with skill education experience and work location.
This role is bonus eligible after 6 months of employment.
