The Role:
The Director of Learning & Development is responsible for designing and executing a comprehensive learning strategy that enables business performance supports organizational change and builds critical capabilities across the workforce.
This role delivers a balanced portfolio of learning programs including onboarding compliance technical and professional development. The Director partners closely with business leaders and People & Culture Business Partners to ensure learning initiatives are aligned to business priorities and produce measurable impact.
What Youll Be Doing in This Role:
Develop and execute a holistic L&D strategy aligned with business objectives and capability needs
- Design and deliver scalable learning programs across onboarding compliance functional and professional skill areas
- Ensure learning initiatives support key business priorities transformation efforts and operational effectiveness
- Promote learning programs through clear consistent communication Ensure employees understand available learning opportunities and how to access them
- Build strong partnerships with People & Culture Business Partners and business leaders to assess needs and prioritize learning solutions Translate business requirements into practical scalable learning interventions Support leaders in building capability within their teams through effective use of learning
- Define and track key metrics to measure learning effectiveness adoption and impact on performance Use data and insights to continuously refine programs and demonstrate business value
- Own and manage the Learning Management System (Workday Learning) including content governance reporting and user experience Ensure effective utilization adoption and continuous improvement of learning systems and tools
- Partner with leaders to identify capability gaps and design targeted learning solutions Deliver practical role-based learning interventions that improve performance in current roles Facilitate team-based learning and skills development sessions to strengthen effectiveness and collaboration
- Oversee onboarding and new hire training to accelerate time-to-productivity and engagement Design and manage compliance training programs to meet regulatory and organizational requirements Develop and implement mentoring programs focused on knowledge transfer capability building and employee growth in role Lead targeted initiatives to build critical business capabilities (e.g. technical commercial and role-specific skills)
Qualifications of this Role:
Required
- 810 years of experience in learning & development organizational capability or a related field
- Experience designing and delivering a broad range of learning programs (beyond leadership-focused training)
- Strong experience in onboarding compliance and operational or role-based learning
- Experience managing and optimizing a Learning Management System (Workday preferred)
- Proven ability to define success metrics and measure learning effectiveness
- Strong stakeholder management and business partnership skills
- Experience working in fast-paced changing environments
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills
Preferred
- Experience in global or multi-regional organizations
- Familiarity with digital learning tools and modern learning methodologies
- Experience supporting mentoring or knowledge-sharing programs
- Experience supporting learning initiatives in a fast-paced high-change or transformational environment
This position has a starting salary range of $150000-$175000 USD per year. This is the range we reasonably and in good faith expect to pay for the role at the time of posting. An employees pay within the range is determined by a number of factors including relevant skills education qualifications experience performance business or organizational needs and geographic location.
