This is a Hybrid role in Austin Texas.

Position Summary


The purpose of this position is to provide a System Engineering function to develop deploy support and operate cloud-based platformsusing technologies such as Kubernetes Docker Cassandra Datadog Elasticsearch Logstash Kibana among others. To do so thecandidate will possess and demonstrate the ability to solve complex technical issues (Investigation of issues will require understandingof the whole solution including different systems and technologies the candidate will need to correlate the information from logs andmetrics provided by the different elements of the solution. It also includes Security aspects like encryption keys and APDUmanagement) for platforms running on multiple technologies and software systems. The candidate should also have extensiveunderstanding of CI/CD pipeline definition and automation for building validating and deploying the platform to be able to work on aDevOps / CICD model with our internal teams and customers. A strong knowledge and experience on Datadog or ELK is also requiredto handle the logging management and support for the customer provide improvement and upgrades for future deployment and currentProduction support.

Key Areas of Responsibility

The Engineer primary responsibility footprint:


Member of Cloud OTA Deployment team
Define architect (collecting requirements searching for industry best practices proposing solutions to peers for reviewformalizing output in documentation) and deploy high availability solutions using Cloud Technologies such as AWS KubernetesCassandra Docker Datadog/ELK utilizing active/ active architectures (multiple instances of the same component will run in paralleland accept / handle traffic at the same time either within a same site or different sites).

Define develop and maintain deployment and operation script and tools for deployment automation.
Participates in maintenance window activities for hosted on-premise cloud platform changes.

Responsible for Solution platform deployment installation patching and third party software upgrades on internal and externalcustomer platforms.
Maintain Solution and Database monitoring solutions
Define architect (collecting customer needs and product needs providing recommendation for project according volume andnumber transaction / level of availability required) and deploy Cassandra database high availability solutions utilizing replicationtechnology in active architectures across multiple sites.
Define architect (understanding the database design data available into the database and the required output. Must alsoconsider the volume of data to implement the best approach to collect and process the data to generate the output in an optimalway) and deploy Scala / Spark programs for data extraction and reporting based high availability solutions utilizing replicationtechnology.
Participate in technical design review and strategic decision making (Using his understanding of many technologies providefeedback and input to his peers to ensure the best design is implemented in the solution)

Basic Qualifications

Bachelors degree in field with a minimum of 5-8 years of relevant work experience or Masters degree in field with 4 years ofrelevant work experience
Expert level experience in cloud database deployment management and migration
2 years of Cassandra / MySQL database administration
1 years of Datadog or ELK usage
Very good knowledge of all phases of software development lifecycle: requirements analysis specification designimplementation code review testing and release
Proactive team player and leadership qualities with strong technical background
Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

Managing high SLA environments
Autonomous on Cloud technologies such as Kubernetes Docker Datadog / ELK Cassandra AWS.
Autonomous on Pipeline automation with GitLab.
Autonomous on Ansible Terraform deployment scripts and automation.

Physical Demands

This position requires decision making capabilities at an advanced level to include assisting the consultant role for other teams and the
ability to provide technical expertise surrounding various database technology topics.

Special Position Requirements

Candidate will need to be able to multitask and quickly switch if need be to emergency situations on production platforms. The positionrequires the ability to be able to manage tight deadlines and have visibility on project delivery goals and the ability to communicateeffectively to project teams and management. The candidate will be able to thrive in a fast-paced work environment. The candidate willbe required to be available to work during nights and weekends when the situation requires it.

Total Target Cash (TTC) 109653.00 - 182755.00 USD Annual

This reflects how companies in a similar industry and geographic region generally pay for similar jobs. This range helps the Company make pay decisions as one data point among many.
