JOB SUMMARY
The Development Database Manager is a key member of the Alumni Relations and Development team providing data expertise and ensuring the accuracy integrity and security of financial and biographical information in the Schools addition this role processes gift transactions and develops queries and reports that support the full scope of the departments work from departmental leadership to Alumni Relations Annual Giving Donor Relations and Planned Giving.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Oversee and manage gift entry process and perform regular and ongoing financial reconciliation with the Business Office
Work collaboratively with team members to maximize efficient use of the database to support data analysis donor stewardship event invitations solicitations and other targeted outreach efforts
Document and implement departmental best practices around data entry security and privacy and ensure compliance for all procedures
Maintain database integrity through regular data audits
Develop monthly comparative and projection reports to track fundraising progress for Annual Giving including reunion class gifts and major gifts
Perform prospect research to assist major gift fundraising efforts
Assist team members as needed with event planning and execution
Manage data needs for annual donor recognition
Train current and new users in database usage and provide technical support
Provide support for the Marketing & Communications team in generating mail lists and maintaining NCOA address updates
Serve as a liaison to the Schools IT Department as related to Veracross
Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the Schools discretion
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
3-5 years previous experience in nonprofit fundraising is mandatory
Proficiency with fundraising CRM (such as Veracross or Blackbauds Raisers Edge)
Strong knowledge of best practices for gift entry across various gifting scenarios
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel required; experience with iWave and LexisNexis preferred
Very high level of accuracy and thoroughness with regard to data entry
Well-organized and self-directed with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain a high level of productivity and accuracy while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
The ability to work effectively in a team including problem resolution willingness to find new solutions and sharing ideas in a constructive manner
High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations
College degree or equivalent educational experience
Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends at key times of the year
OTHER INFORMATION
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of criminal history and background check.
This is an on-campus in-person position. The employee is expected to work from the Schools office; remote or hybrid work arrangements are not available.
Generally works in standard office conditions and climate.
May work at a desk and computer for extended periods of time.
May work in varied extreme outside weather conditions during special activities and fundraising events.
Light physical activity. Work may involve occasional assistance of others in the manipulation of heavy objects and some standing or walking for extended periods of time.
