Desktop Logistics Engineer

Great opportunity to join our Boston team as a Desktop Logistics Engineer and play a key role in delivering a seamless technology experience for our customers and employees! Youll own the logistics and lifecycle of end-user technology - from deployment and inventory management to refreshes asset-tracking and coordination with support and infrastructure teams. **This position requires the engineer to be in our Boston office Monday through Friday**

Some responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Managing and maintaining hardware inventory as well as the full lifecycle of both internal and customer hardware
• Receiving imaging deploying and shipping workstations to our customers and employees ensuring all assets are properly tracked and ready for deployment
• Serve as the central point of coordination for field service scheduling - maintaining the dispatch calendar communicating proactively with customers to arrange and confirm site visits and ensuring the field teams calendar remains current and accurate at all times
• May travel to a variety of client sites as needed
• Supports clients in all areas of IT support as outlined in client contract
• Assist in the maintenance of windows servers as well as all applications in use by our clients
• Maintains all client network equipment including servers workstations PDAs routers firewalls switches and printers
• Provides remote service to clients when applicable
• Provides on-call duties within a rotating schedule and available for weekend/evening work when required
• Addresses the needs of the clients and end users in a timely manner and meets deadlines for all assigned tasks
• Escalates tickets appropriately and non-technical issues to the correct Manager
• May performs client audits and create summary reports of findings
• On the clients behalf may communicate with a variety of vendors for issues and needs in terms of hardware software and communications (ISPs) wireless networks phone systems PDAs and desktop applications
• Collaborates with other internal teams
• All other duties as assigned

• Working knowledge of other enterprise class switches (L2/L3) routers load balancers and firewalls
• Proficient in network routing protocols like OSPF BGP EIGRP and HSRP
• Configures and troubleshoots VPNs
• Technical expertise in network storage virtualization and computing across multiple vendors
• Exceptional client relations skills to engage and service clients effectively
• Effective critical thinking analytical and problem-solving skills

• Strong attention to detail in ticket documentation and notes

Experience and Education:

• 23 years of IT experience preferably with a Managed Services Provider
• Bachelors degree in information technology or information systems preferred or equivalent work experience
• Must have Windows Server and Windows desktop experience; proficiency with Microsoft 365 Azure and Intune required
• Solid working knowledge of TCP/IP DNS DHCP VoIP LAN technologies and Active Directory
• Completion of related-IT training whether it be through a degree program or certification
• AWS experience or certification preferred
