Job Title: Design Research Intern

Lifetime Products located in Clearfield Utah designs and manufactures consumer products for major retailers around the world including Sporting Goods Lawn & Garden Water Sports Play Sets and Tables & Chairs.

For Summer of 2026 we are seeking a talented and passionate Design Research Intern to assist our research team. As an integral part of our design process you will be responsible for conducting in-depth user research to inform and inspire our product development. If you have a keen eye for hard goods design a curiosity for user behavior and a knack for translating insights into physical innovative solutions we have an amazing opportunity for you. This position is a paid internship that is onsite in Clearfield Utah. Drug screen and background checks will be completed prior to hire.

SKILLS

• Conduct thorough research on market trends user behaviors and emerging technologies in the consumer goods sector.
• Employ a user centric approach actively engaging with customers through interviews surveys and usability testing to gather valuable insights.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate research findings into the design process ensuring products meet users needs and expectations.
• Translate research findings into actionable design recommendations contributing to the development of innovative and user-friendly products.

Education and Experience Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a major with a Design User Research emphasis.
• Proven experience in Design Research with a strong portfolio showcasing successful projects in the consumer goods space.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to present research findings in a clear and compelling manner.
• Proficiency in using various research methods with focus in meeting with customers to understand their needs.
• Experience using qualitative research methods including observation interviewing and contextual inquiry.
• Familiarity with traditional design tools and software.
