What You Will Do:
Guidehouse is seeking a Data Scientist to join our AI & Data Defense and Security Segment where the individual will collect and analyze data to identify trends develop visualizations in support of organizational and mission goals and support decision-making for large-scale programs within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Design and develop data visualization and dashboard solutions to provide required analytics insights (Power BI)

• Collecting cleaning and analyzing data using a variety of methods and tools such as R

• Identifying and creating additional data visualization capabilities as needed

• Ensuring data governance and quality assurance standards are met

• Conducting data validation and remediation using tools such as R and Excel

• Analyzing current process and identifying potential improvements

• Working with team members to summarize and report on business process improvements to include gaps in current processes and initiatives to improve processes for an organization

• Organizing and leading client meetings including scheduling meetings; drafting and delivering agendas and meeting minutes; providing and archiving required documentation; and documenting tracking and following-up on action items

• Summarizing and presenting information and reports to the team and make recommendations (both oral and written)

What You Will Need:

• Must be able to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DHS PUBLIC TRUST; candidates must obtain approved adjudication of their PUBLIC TRUST prior to onboarding with Guidehouse. Candidates with an ACTIVE PUBLIC TRUST or SUITABILITY are preferred

• Bachelors Degree

• THREE (3) or more years of experience in consulting data analytics or project management

What Would Be Nice To Have:

• Active DHS Public Trust

• Law Enforcement experience

• Data visualization tools such as Power BI

• Good critical thinking skills writing skills and communication skills

• Experience in business analysis

• Experience connecting visualization to various types of data sources

• Experience developing training materials

• Experience with process improvement

• Database optimization

• Monitoring program operations to ensure compliance with federal regulations

• Knowledge of ETL/ELT processes and tools for data integration such as: Databricks Snowflake Azure Data Factory Microsoft SQL Server tools (SSIS SSMS SSAS SSRS) Azure Synapse Analytics

• Proficiency in querying data using SQL and experience optimizing SQL query performance for large datasets
