Job Summary

Position: Customer Service Representative (Dual-Function: CS & Inside Sales Support)

Location: Greater Chicago Area

Compensation: $50-60K

Experience Level: Mid-Level (24 Years)

Key Tech Stack: CRM CPQ ERP (Microsoft Dynamics preferred)

Role Summary

Our client is a global industrial technology group operating brands across measurement safety and process control. This position is a dual-function: Customer Service and Inside Sales Support Representative to act as the primary contact for customers and distributors managing the full order lifecycle from quote to delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Order & Quote Management

  • Process sales orders accurately tracking status from entry through shipment and invoicing.
  • Build configure and manage customer quotes using CPQ software following up to convert opportunities into orders.
  • Maintain clean CRM data including deal stages pipelines and customer contact information.
  • Coordinate with warehouse operations and finance teams to resolve order delays or credit holds.

Relationship Management & Support

  • Serve as the primary daily contact for assigned accounts and distributors via phone and email.
  • Resolve inquiries technical questions and shipping issues professionally.
  • Assist with new customer onboarding and distributor account setups.

  • Prepare brief weekly activity reports (quote and order logs) for sales leadership.

Requirements

Experience & Skills

  • 24 years of experience in customer service inside sales or order managementideally within an industrial manufacturing or technical environment.
  • Proficient with CRM software and comfortable learning proprietary CPQ/quoting tools.
  • Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple moving orders simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for handling technical product queries.

Nice to Have

  • Background in industrial measurement safety or process control products.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics 365/Business Central).
  • Exposure to export compliance or international shipping.
