Custodian

Position Summary

The Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean safe and professional environment for employees customers and visitors. This role performs daily indoor and outdoor cleaning of the facility to ensure sanitation safety and appearance standards are consistently met.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Daily Indoor Cleaning

• Clean and sanitize restrooms offices break rooms conference rooms and common areas
• Sweep mop vacuum and maintain all floor surfaces
• Empty trash and recycling; replace liners
• Clean windows glass mirrors doors and fixtures
• Dust and wipe desks counters shelving and high-touch surfaces
• Restock restroom and breakroom supplies
• Report safety maintenance or facility issues

Daily Outdoor Cleaning & Grounds

• Remove trash and debris from parking lots walkways entrances and loading areas
• Sweep sidewalks and exterior entry points
• Maintain cleanliness around dumpsters and disposal areas
• Clean outdoor break areas and common spaces
• Assist with basic seasonal upkeep (leaves dirt buildup light snow/ice as needed)

General Responsibilities

• Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion while performing assigned duties and supporting general facility needs
• Safely use cleaning equipment and approved chemicals
• Follow company safety policies and OSHA guidelines
• Complete cleaning checklists or logs as required
• Support special cleaning projects and facility needs

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Prior custodial or janitorial experience preferred
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks (standing walking bending)
• Reliable punctual and detail-oriented

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Combination of indoor and outdoor work
• Exposure to cleaning chemicals and varying weather conditions
• Prolonged standing walking lifting and bending
