Position Summary
The School of Social Work ( SSW ) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill invites applications for a position as the PSLP Curriculum Coordinator for the Public Service Leadership Program ( PSLP ) funded by The Workforce is Here: How to Support Thriving Communities and Healthy North Carolina Children Individuals Families and Elders via Social Work Interventions and Research grant program. This initiative plans to develop and offer a statewide three-tiered public service certificate for both pre-service students at the high school community college/undergraduate and masters levels and in-service practitioners currently employed in public sector social work settings. The purpose of these certifications is to spark interest in pursuing public sector career opportunities and for those already engaged in the social work workforce to add a credential to enable career advancement and acquisition and competency of advanced skills. Each certificate will encompass a core set of common elements: a degree and/or curriculum enhancement to leverage foundational instruction; a tuition-free credential with curriculum development and instructional costs incurred and covered through the initiative; emphasis on direct service; content focused on North Carolinas critical service delivery areas; a virtual delivery model to enhance accessibility; and a co-instruction model of university faculty agency professionals and individuals with lived experiences. The PSLP Curriculum Coordinator will work directly with the PSLP Workforce Development Curriculum Engineer to implement and provide academic support for pre-service and in-service PSLP practitioners and students at undergraduate and graduate levels. This role encompasses supporting the implementation and future development of innovative curricula focused on public sector social work practice and engagement with underserved populations within the social work workforce. Three of the certificates will target pre-service students at the pre- BSW BSW and MSW levels and the other two certificates will target in-service practitioners at the post- BSW and post- MSW levels. Each certificate will include immersive in-person learning experiences virtual professional learning team engagement and some asynchronous online course completion. The PSLP Curriculum Coordinator will report to the Workforce Development Curriculum Engineer and will work closely with other PSLP Program Leads and Program Managers to develop launch and implement the programs curricula as well as support the development and implementation of all associated assessments needed to gauge student learning and progress towards stated learning outcomes. This position will serve as regional team lead for the PSLP curriculum development team including the regional Wellness Coach and Recruitment Coordinator. This position will also support the PSLP Curriculum Certificate and Training Committee and other PSLP workgroups and external stakeholder groups. This position will be located at Western Carolina University and will provide support to all western North Carolina social work programs in the region: Appalachian State University Mars Hill University Warren Wilson College and Western Carolina University. The candidate must reside within a commutable distance of at least one of these universities. The candidate will be expected to work on-campus at least 2 days a week and will provide support to all western NC social work education programs. The position will require up to 25% travel to regional NC human services organization and partnering NC Social Work Coalition universities. Additional travel may include participation in program state and national conference presentations meetings and/or events.

Required Qualifications Competencies And Experience
Bachelors degree in education social work human services educational psychology or related field of study The candidate must reside within a commutable distance of at least one of these universities: Appalachian State University Mars Hill University Warren Wilson College and Western Carolina University. The position will require up to 25% travel to regional NC human services organization and partnering NC Social Work Coalition universities Experience in collection organization and monitoring of course assessment data Experience in tracking measures of student learning Proficiency in using online learning platforms and digital tools for virtual program delivery (eg. Zoom Teams Mentimeter BigBlueButton) Strong interpersonal organizational and communication skills are required Ability to work both independently and collaboratively without immediate direct supervision Ability to manage conflict and communicate effectively with diverse workforce populations stakeholders and settings Working knowledge of the content and practice skills associated with the 5 critical service domains (child and family services mental/behavioral health IDD adult and aging populations justice-involved populations)

*Masters degree in education social work human services educational psychology or a related field of study *Experience with data management systems to track student performance *Experience with implementing training curricula and/or programs *Experience with academic advising for post-secondary education settings * Experience with classroom-based instruction for in-person and online learning environments *Ability to work collaboratively with academic institutions adult students working professionals and other stakeholders *Familiarity with North Carolinas social service systems and public sector workforce needs *Knowledge of instructional design principles and adult learning theories *Experience working in a university or higher education setting * Familiarity with current trends and challenges in workforce development and social work education
