Job Summary
Assists with all functions related to the credentialing and re-credentialing process for physicians and allied health personnel.Essential Functions
-Assist with activities associated with physician and advanced practice providers credentialing and recredentialing; track and maintain credentialing expiring documents
-Maintain the integrity of provider data in the enterprise credentialing system by ensuring data is entered and updated accurately
-Communicate with internal and external physicians allied health professionals other healthcare professionals and managers regarding questions or issues in an effort to gather and maintain credentialing information
-Assist with initial and reappointment application in accordance with policies and procedures; ensure that the credentialing application is completed within an established time frame
-Perform routine credentialing application audits for quality completeness and accuracy of data identify non-compliant items and identifies issues that require additional investigation and evaluations
-Utilize credentialing websites to obtain primary source verifications and assist with verifying credentialing elements
-Maintain competency on nationally recognized credentialing related initiatives through participation with NAMSS and MAMSS journal articles online education webinars and other industry related news
Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required or Associates Degree Related Field of Study preferred
Experience
- 3-5 years of experience in credentialing or a related field required
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Working knowledge of general office practices and software applications and database management.
- Demonstrated understanding of credentialing policies and procedures as well as accreditation and regulatory requirements relating to the medical staff.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to manage demanding workload; self-motivated; able to carry out responsibilities with minimum supervision.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to successfully negotiate and collaborate with others of different skill sets backgrounds and levels within and external to the organization.
