Position Overview The Construction Safety Manager will lead all safety efforts across our field operations. This role is responsible for developing implementing and enforcing safety protocols to ensure full compliance with OSHA and other relevant safety regulations. The ideal candidate will serve as a partner to our Project Managers Foremen and leadership team promoting a culture of safety while balancing productivity and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement job site safety policies and procedures in line with company standards and OSHA regulations.
Conduct routine and random safety inspections of active job sites; report findings and ensure corrective actions are taken.
Maintain documentation of inspections safety violations corrective actions and training.
Investigate all accidents incidents and near-misses to determine root causes and prevent recurrence.
Manage safety orientation and ongoing training for all field personnel including subcontractors.
Collaborate with Project Managers and the Director of Construction to address safety risks during preconstruction and throughout the project lifecycle.
Ensure proper use of PPE and all required safety equipment at each job site.
Stay current on changes to local state and federal safety regulations and construction codes.
Assist in the rollout and integration of any construction management or safety-related software systems.
Track safety metrics (TRIR DART etc.) and provide regular reports to leadership.
Participate in performance evaluations related to safety compliance for field staff.
Serve as primary point of contact for any safety audits or inspections from external agencies.
Qualifications
5 years of safety experience in the construction or electrical contracting industry.
Is qualified to recognize safety hazards.
Has the authority to take corrective action.
Possesses current certifications in First Aid CPR and AED.
Possesses a recent OSHA 30-hour Construction card.
Has an academic degree in safety or a minimum three (3) years of prior work history as a full-time construction safety manager.
ASP CHST or CSP designation.
Strong knowledge of OSHA EPA and other applicable safety standards.
Experience creating and leading safety trainings for field staff.
Ability to manage documentation reports and corrective action plans.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.
Must be able to travel to job sites throughout the Atlanta metro area and potentially beyond.
