Tekberry is seeking an experienced Construction Inspector to support Outside Plant (OSP) fiber optic construction projects throughout the Scranton PA region. This role is ideal for candidates with telecommunications construction experience who enjoy working independently in the field while ensuring projects are completed safely efficiently and according to customer and industry standards.

Position Summary
The Construction Inspector is responsible for monitoring and documenting field construction activities related to Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) projects. This position supports project teams by tracking contractor performance conducting quality inspections reporting production progress and ensuring adherence to established specifications and safety requirements.
The ideal candidate is organized self-directed and comfortable spending the majority of their time in the field supporting active construction projects.
Key Responsibilities Construction Oversight & Field Support
Monitor and document daily contractor activities on fiber optic construction projects
Review project drawings specifications and construction plans to ensure understanding of project scope
Visit project sites to assess progress and address project-related concerns
Support project managers through field observations and status reporting
Provide direction to contractors in accordance with approved project requirements when necessary
Quality Assurance & Compliance
Inspect ongoing and completed work to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards
Perform quality inspections using established checklists and quality documentation processes
Verify construction activities align with manufacturer recommendations and customer requirements
Ensure adherence to local construction practices and procedures
Promote and enforce safe work practices on project sites
Reporting & Documentation
Utilize mobile reporting tools to document daily production activities
Maintain accurate records and reports related to project progress and field observations
Support material inventory tracking and consumption reporting
Communicate effectively with project stakeholders regarding project status and field conditions
Qualifications Required Education
High School Diploma or GED
Required Qualifications
Valid U.S. Drivers License with a clean driving record
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to read and interpret FTTX (Fiber-to-the-Home) construction drawings and prints
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including:
Excel
Word
Outlook
PowerPoint
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Ability to periodically work outside standard business hours
Fluency in English
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting FTTH FTTB MDU or OSP construction projects
Previous experience inspecting telecommunications or utility construction activities
Familiarity with mobile construction reporting systems
Experience coordinating with contractors and project teams
Knowledge of fiber optic construction standards and practices
Travel Requirements
Must reside within one hour of the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area
Daily travel to project sites throughout the region is required
Candidates will be responsible for renting a passenger vehicle as needed
Vehicle rental expenses will be reimbursed
Work Environment
Combination of indoor office work and outdoor field activities
Frequent standing walking and driving throughout the workday
Ability to walk up to 5 miles per day on active project sites
Regular exposure to varying weather conditions including heat rain snow and cold temperatures
Exposure to active construction environments and associated noise levels
Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including hard hats safety glasses gloves hearing protection and safety vests
Steel-toe boots are required and must be provided by the employee
