Commercial Flooring Apprentice

Jack Laurie Group is looking for a hardworking and dependable Commercial Flooring Apprentice to join our Fort Wayne team. This position is ideal for someone with 13 years of construction flooring or trade-related experience who wants to build a long-term career in the flooring industry.
Youll work alongside experienced installers on commercial projects throughout Northeast Indiana learning the skills needed to install a wide variety of flooring products including LVT LVP carpet carpet tile sheet vinyl rubber flooring and more.
What Youll Do
- Assist with the installation of commercial flooring materials including LVT LVP carpet carpet tile sheet vinyl rubber flooring and other floor coverings
- Prepare job sites and flooring surfaces for installation
- Load unload and transport materials tools and equipment
- Learn proper installation techniques and industry best practices
- Assist with floor preparation layout cutting fitting and finishing
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow company safety policies and job site requirements
- Travel to project sites throughout Northeast Indiana as needed
- Work closely with experienced installers to develop your trade skills
What Were Looking For
- 13 years of construction flooring or related trade experience preferred
- Willingness to learn and develop a career in commercial flooring
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely
- Strong attention to detail and work quality
- Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds regularly
- Valid drivers license and reliable transportation
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
