### **I. Role Description & Candidate Qualifications**
The AWS Cloud Engineer III will be tasked with remediating a legacy AWS cloud environment to address identified security vulnerabilities and technical risks.
**Core Responsibilities:**
* **Assessment & Migration:** Assess existing AWS workloads remediate security findings and migrate resources to a standardized and secure AWS Landing Zone aligned with approved architecture governance and security standards.
* **Infrastructure as Code (IaC):** Use Terraform to implement and manage infrastructure as code ensuring consistent repeatable and auditable remediation and migration activities.
* **Security Best Practices:** Implement AWS security best practices related to identity and access management (IAM) network security logging monitoring and encryption.
* **Compliance & Documentation:** Validate compliance with DIR security policies and audit requirements and produce all required technical and operational documentation.

### **II. Minimum Skills and Qualifications**
**Required Experience:**
* **4 7 Years:** Experience in cloud infrastructure or systems engineering.
* **2 Years:** Hands on experience supporting AWS environments.
* **Required:** Experience supporting remediation migration or modernization of existing (legacy) cloud environments.
* **Required:** Hands on experience working in Amazon Web Services (AWS) enterprise environments.
* **Required:** Experience remediating cloud security findings or implementing security controls under established standards.
* **Required:** Experience using Terraform to deploy update or manage cloud infrastructure.
* **Required:** Familiarity with cloud security best practices and the shared responsibility model.
* **Required:** Experience following documented architecture security and governance standards.
* **Required:** Ability to execute defined remediation and migration tasks under general direction.

* **Required:** Strong communication and collaboration skills.

* Familiarity with AWS Landing Zone concepts or standardized cloud environments.

* Experience supporting TxDOT other Texas state agencies or public sector environments.
