POSITION: Journeyman Carpenter / Deck and Patio Cover Builder
Zion Builders Inc. is a premier deckbuilding company and the only TrexPro Platinum contractor in northern Nevada. We are a familyowned business seeking careerminded carpenters who want to grow with our team and help build highquality outdoor structures throughout the Reno/Sparks area and the Tahoe Basin.
Schedule: Full Time
Location: North-west Nevada

Minimum / Preferred Requirements
1. Customer Service
Goal: Deliver a positive customer experience that supports referrals and future work.
Rough framing; installation of composite and wood decking and handrail; aluminum patio covers; footings; concrete; tiesteel; drywall; paint; roofing; gutters; siding; exterior trim; pavers.
Goal: Construct highquality projects with attention to detail and craftsmanship.
Goal: Ensure safety for employees customers and bystanders to prevent injuries and property damage.

Minimum / Preferred Requirements
- Minimum 5 years traderelated carpentry experience
- Maintain reliable transportation and a valid drivers license eligible for company vehicle use
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
- Ability to pass a written carpentry test involving fractions to 1/16 inch
- Consistent punctuality and reliable attendance
- Willingness to travel to job sites throughout Reno/Sparks Washoe County and the Tahoe Basin

- Maintain a clean job site; store materials properly and remove waste promptly
- Minimize impact on customer property including walkways entryways and landscaping
- Maintain a smoke and vapefree job site by using designated areas away from the work zone
- Communicate customer needs clearly and professionally with the contractor

- Maintain all necessary tools in proper working condition
- Inspect materials for defects and verify alignment
- Paint deck substructures to reduce visibility and preserve wood
Goal: Ensure safety for employees customers and bystanders to prevent injuries and property damage.
- Maintain clean safe and organized work environments
- Evaluate practices and facilities for risk and compliance with the Zion Builders Safety Plan
- Recommend improvements or new prevention measures
- Inspect products tools and equipment for safe and proper functioning.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Advanced carpentry skills
- Strong timemanagement abilities
- Ability to read building specifications and blueprints
- Accurate time and mileage tracking using digital apps
- Ability to track job costs and receipts
- Literacy in English or Spanish
- Ability to stand for up to 8 hours per day with appropriate breaks
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
- Ability to work safely at heights using ladders scaffolding and fallprotection equipment
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
