Responsibilities
- Perform the carpentry duties necessary to maintain in good repair building woodwork and equipment such as bins counters benches partitions and doors
- Plan and lay out work from blueprints drawings models or verbal instructions using a variety of carpenters hand tools portable power tools and standard measuring instruments
- Make standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work
- Select materials necessary for the work
- Paint walls woodwork and fixtures
- Identify surface peculiarities and determine the types of paint required for different applications
- Prepare surface for painting by removing old finish or by placing putty or filler in nail holes
- Mix colors oils white lead and other paint ingredients to obtain proper color or consistency
- Use spray gun and/or brush to apply paint
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- 3-5 years of carpentry experience required
