The Bars Production Manager is responsible for the production output of the organizations Bar Soaps department. This includes but is not limited to identifying investigating and resolving production issues both systemic and acute; directing operations personnel to ensure qualified processes and production requirements are met; providing training support and leadership for cross-functional problem-solving activities and methods. They lead and manage a team optimize processes and troubleshoot issues to maintain a smooth and productive operation. They are responsible for improving OEE of the department; delivering OTIF; enhancing capacity of the department.
Job Details:
Provide direction to department supervisors engineers maintenance and production employees.
Direct and manage professional direct reports to deliver on all key metrics that include but are not limited to Safety OEE Material Yields Quality and Mechanical Changeovers.
Directs production in accordance with policies principles and procedures established by the company.
Reviews product quality and modifies production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance organizational metrics.
Identify coaching opportunities and provide the feedback to influence the behavior change to Direct Reports required to sustain a problem-solving culture
Respond to operational modifications and work closely with function leads to maximize customer satisfaction.
Responsible for the coordination of activities of production associates on their units
Responsible for meeting production output requirements per the production schedule
Responsible for the quality of output on each process.
Identifies material shortages or issues that may disrupt production activities
Responsible for minimizing production material scrap and reporting on defect trends
Communicates product and production issues to management or other appropriate individuals
Participate in the manufacturing safety and environmental programs to ensure a safe work environment.
Direct emergent maintenance work orders in priority to achieve production requirements.
Work closely with union leadership to ensure a collaborative relationship.
Other duties as assigned by management
Education Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related field
Minimum Work Requirements:
Authorized to work in the United States
10 years of manufacturing experience
5 years experience managing in a high-speed/liquid production environment
5 years experience managing in a union environment
5 years experience managing in an FDA regulated facility
Strong planning and organizing skills
Strong analytical and quantitative skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Prior experience in the consumer products industry
Physical Requirements:
Daily responsibilities may require working on elevated surfaces climbing stairs/ladders kneeling bending squatting stooping lifting to 30 pounds crawling under equipment wearing fall protection and required PPE
Ability to work in year-round indoor/outdoor conditions
Standing/walking for extended periods of time
Sitting for periods of time working in front of a computer screen
