Backend Developer

Core Responsibilities

• Backend Developer (AWS Python Java)
• Perform senior-level system analysis design development and implementation of applications and data solutions
• Develop and enhance scalable applications supporting document processing and publishing workflows
• Translate technical specifications into working code for new development and enhancement initiatives
• Build test and deploy applications across development test and production environments
• Provide production support troubleshoot issues and ensure system stability and performance
• Integrate third-party tools and services into the application ecosystem
• Participate in code reviews design reviews and test inspections to ensure quality standards
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and deliver technical solutions
• Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Support change management processes including documentation and release coordination
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to best practices in development and architecture
• Ensure adherence to enterprise technology security and compliance standards

Qualifications

• Required Qualifications
• Minimum 8 years of relevant work experience in application development
• Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of training and experience (advanced degree preferred)
• Robust hands-on development experience in:
• Angular (front end)
• Java and Python (backend)
• Expertise in AWS cloud services including:
• S3
• DynamoDB
• Glue (or equivalent data processing services)
• Experience building scalable maintainable and high-performance applications
• Robust experience in API development including REST and GraphQL
• Understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems
