Position Overview
The Division of Developmental Disabilities is seeking to hire a Mental Health Administrator I for the Ludeman Developmental Center located in Park Forest Illinois to participate in the activities of a multidisciplinary team engaged in the implementation of care and treatment programs for intellectually disabled individuals served on an assigned unit. Oversees the formulation and implementation of treatment and habilitation plans including completion of tasks such as quality assurance checks data collection analysis implementation of department of public health regulations and other applicable rules and regulations. Provides direction and guidance with regards to behavioral problems. Develops and implements policy that impacts services at the Ludeman Developmental Center. Verifies compliance with applicable Public Health and other regulatory agency policies standards and regulations. Travels in the performance of duties. Serves as working supervisor to lower-level staff.
Essential Functions
- Serves as the Assistant Unit Director.
- Oversees the formulation and implementation of treatment and habilitation plans including completion of tasks such as quality assurance checks data collection analysis implementation of department of public health regulations and other applicable rules and regulations.
- Serves as working supervisor.
- Develops and implements policy that impacts services at Ludeman Center.
- Plans develops and implements in service training programs confirming documentation is completed and forwarded to staff development for the record.
- Verifies compliance with applicable Public Health and other regulatory agency policies standards and regulations.
- Performs other duties required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge skill and mental development equivalent to 1) a masters degree in administration education or the behavioral sciences and successful completion of a comprehensive training program at the Mental Health Administrator Trainee level or 2) three (3) years of progressively responsible professional experience in or applicable to the provision of therapeutic patient services for persons with mental illness or intellectual disabilities or 3) three (3) years of progressively responsible supervisory experience in or applicable to the care treatment and development of persons with mental illness or intellectual disabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Three (3) years of professional experience directing and guiding the activities and services of a direct care program for intellectually disabled individuals for a public or private organization.
- Three (3) years of professional experience monitoring implementation of programs evaluating the plans effectiveness.
- Three (3) years of professional experience developing and implementing policy impacting services for a public or private organization.
- Three (3) years of professional supervisory experience assigning and reviewing work providing guidance and training to staff.
- Three (3) years of professional experience developing and implementing quality assurance reviews for a public or private organization.
Conditions of Employment
- Requires the ability to travel in the performance of duties including traveling off site for training and meetings.
- Requires the ability to make rounds and to participate in the application of restraint procedures and physically restrain individuals as necessary to prevent injury to individual or others.
- Requires the ability to work after business hours weekends and holidays.
- Requires the ability to utilize office equipment including personal computers.
- Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check.
- Requires ability to pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law.
