Under limited supervision the application developer will work with Senior Application Developers to perform the writing testing and documentation of complex agency computer programs. The application developer will develop and implement specialized programs to supplement and enhance systems software in the Administration Program areas. To include integration and monitoring of supporting back-end system processes and solutions documentation and remediation and solving customer issues. Emphasis will be placed on Public Health Administration systems.
* Work in a team environment to implement maintain and provide technical support for administration applications as assigned. Provide technical backup for Administration applications as assigned. Ensures seamless system integration with agency solutions. Adheres to information technology application development standards.
* Assist with integration and monitoring of supporting system processes stored procedures and third-party solutions. Remediate and solve customer reported issues.
* Act as technical consultant to customers and work with other technology staff to ensure applications adhere to Information Technology application development standards. Assist with problem resolution and support the IT Service Center by responding to application-related service calls.
* Prepare and maintain system documentation for applications supported. Provide appropriate administrative documentation/project communication.
* Performs other related duties and special projects as assigned including required travel if requested and responds as directed during emergencies which may occur outside normal work hours and travel if requested.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
State Minimum Requirements:A high school diploma and work experience in computer programming. An associates degree or a bachelors degree in a related field may substitute for the required work experience.
Institutions of Higher Learning must be recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.

Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates the required knowledge skills and abilities may be considered in meeting the minimum qualifications subject to approval by the DPH Chief Human Resources Officer or their delegate.
