Job Summary
The Indiana University Foundation is seeking a collaborative service-oriented and relationship-focused Alumni Engagement Officer to strengthen alumni engagement efforts across Indiana University. This role serves as a key liaison between the IU Alumni Association (IUAA) and advancement professionals across campuses schools and units helping partners develop and execute engagement strategies that advance institutional priorities and foster meaningful alumni connections.
This position is ideal for a strategic relationship builder who enjoys consulting with stakeholders managing multiple initiatives and connecting people to resources that drive results. The Alumni Engagement Officer will help schools and units maximize alumni engagement opportunities leverage university-wide resources and data and build collaborative partnerships across the IU advancement community.
In this role you will help strengthen alumni engagement across Indiana University by supporting strategic planning program development volunteer engagement training communication and data-informed decision-making. You will also play an important role in fostering collaboration sharing best practices and supporting initiatives that deepen alumni involvement and support the universitys mission.
Key responsibilities include:
- Serving as the primary liaison to campus school and unit advancement partners on alumni engagement activities including programming volunteer and alumni board management alumni awards financial processes and data support.
- Consulting with partners to develop and implement annual alumni engagement plans aligned with school unit and university priorities.
- Connecting stakeholders to IUAA services and resources including event support training data services enterprise-wide solutions and funding opportunities.
- Creating and managing communication channels that share university updates best practices collaboration opportunities and engagement resources.
- Managing virtual communities and facilitating knowledge sharing among advancement professionals across the institution.
- Leading onboarding training and professional development opportunities that strengthen alumni engagement capabilities across campuses schools and units.
- Collaborating with IUAA teams and advancement partners to maximize participation in signature programs and increase alumni engagement outcomes.
- Supporting planning and execution of the annual Alumni Engagement Conference including programming stakeholder engagement session coordination promotion and follow-up activities.
- Assisting with implementation and adoption of enterprise-wide data tools including the Alumni Engagement Dashboard and related reporting resources.
- Supporting the Academic Grant Program through application review stakeholder communication financial coordination and grant distribution.
- Serving on cross-functional committees advisory groups and strategic initiatives to advocate for alumni engagement priorities and strengthen collaboration across the university.
Qualifications :
Required knowledge skills and abilities include:
- Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate across diverse groups and organizational levels.
- Excellent written verbal presentation and facilitation skills.
- Demonstrated project management skills and ability to successfully manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Experience developing programs engaging volunteers managing budgets or supporting constituent engagement initiatives.
Education and Experience
- Bachelors degree required experience will be taken inconsideration.
- Minimum of three years of professional experience in program development volunteer engagement alumni relations constituent engagement event management advancement higher education or a related field.
- Experience in alumni engagement development higher education or nonprofit organizations preferred.
Additional Information :
Hybrid schedule: Monday Wednesday Friday in office; Tuesday and Thursday remote at the Virgil T. DeVault Alumni Center in Bloomington Indiana.
This position will travel locally and to the Indianapolis office with occasional events that will need support outside of normal business hours.
This role will be posted for 10 days minimum but may remain open longer.
