The Office of Management and Budgets Mission:
The Office of Management and Budget serves Commissioners Court in carrying out its vision for Harris County government. Our mission is to assist the Court in safeguarding the Countys fiscal health achieving strategic objectives promoting transparent accountable government and serving the residents of Harris County.
The Office of Management and Budget has four primary areas of responsibility:
BudgetEncouraging efficient resource allocation through development of County budgets that are aligned with the priorities of the community and of elected officials.FinanceRaising funds for capital projects and managing the Countys investments. Acting as a trusted and fiscally responsible steward of taxpayer dollars.ManagementImplementing the strategic priorities of Harris County by coordinating financial resources and department activities. Communicating to the public and to Commissioners Court relevant non partisan and accurate budget financial and performance data.PerformanceEnhancing governments effectiveness through financial and data analysis. Delivering applications dashboards maps and technical support to assist Commissioners Court departments and agencies in achieving their goals.Risk ManagementEnsuring the safety of the Harris County workforce in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Coordinating local state and federal financial resources to respond effectively to natural and public health disasters.Position Summary:
Under general supervision the Receptionist is primarily responsible for occupying the front desk to answer the telephone greet and direct clientele to the correct area needed and perform various administrative duties for the Office of Management and Budget and thr Office of County Administration as necessary.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greets registers assists and directs visitors to the conference rooms.
- Answer the mainline on the floor and transfer them to the correct person.
- Maintain a clean work area.
- Stock kitchen.
- Scan documents.
- Order and organize office supplies.
- Time stamp all mail items upon arrival.
- Reserves and maintains the floors conference rooms calendar
- Assists with technology equipment for conference rooms as needed
- Provide some administrative support to both OMB and OCA staff including managing calendar schedules and meeting preparations
- Other job duties as assigned

- High School Diploma or equivalentfrom an accredited college or university
Experience:
- Minimum of one (1) year of Administrative Support experience
Additional Requirements:
- Candidates must complete a clerical skills test and achieve a minimum typing speed of 90% aptitude 40 WPM with at least 85% accuracy

- This is a full time position required to work in person. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
- This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers phones photocopiers filing cabinets and scanners.
- This is largely a sedentary role. This would require the ability to lift files up to 10 pounds open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.
