Essential Position
Grade: 3
Summary: The Activities Coordinator plans coordinates implements and evaluates the resident engagement programs that promote physical cognitive emotional social and spiritual well-being. This position coordinates daily programming operations supports regulatory compliance and documentation and serves as a resource for residents families volunteers and team members. The Activities Coordinator helps ensure a vibrant and engaging community environment while maintaining resident dignity choice and quality of life.

Qualification Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum two years of experience in senior living activities recreation customer service or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree in Recreation Therapy Human Services Gerontology or related field preferred.
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Strong knowledge of recreational therapeutic and meaningful engagement programming for older adults.
- Understanding of dementia care memory support programming and resident-centered engagement practices.
- Ability to coordinate multiple programs schedules events and resources simultaneously.
- Strong organizational communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to coach mentor and provide direction to Activity Assistants and volunteers.
- Proficiency with documentation calendars reporting and basic computer applications.
- Promotes resident participation through relationship-building and individualized engagement approaches.
- Conducts one-on-one visits with residents who are unable or unwilling to attend group activities.
- Encourages resident councils committees and leadership opportunities.
- Maintains accurate participation records attendance logs assessments and required documentation.
- Assists with activity assessments and care planning processes.
- Supports compliance with state federal and organizational standards regarding resident programming.
- Monitors supplies equipment and department inventory.
- Assists with department budgeting purchasing and invoice tracking.
- Coordinates transportation and logistics for resident outings and special events.
- Ability to build positive relationships with residents families vendors volunteers and interdisciplinary team members.
- Knowledge of applicable state and federal regulations related to resident activities and life enrichment programming.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Essential Functions
Coordinates and oversees daily activity programming to ensure resident engagement opportunities are available and well-executed.
- Assists in developing monthly activity calendars that reflect resident interests preferences and assessed needs.
- Facilitates individual and group programs special events outings and celebrations.
- Adapts programming to meet the needs of residents with varying cognitive and physical abilities.
- Complies withall company policies procedures and applicable laws including HIPAA and the Code of Conduct completing required training and reporting concerns promptly.
- This position is designated as essential to the operations of the organization. Team members in this role may be required to report to work during emergencies inclement weather or other situations when the organization remains operational.
