Job Title: Facility EHS ManagerReports Directly to: General ManagerPosition SummaryUnder the direction of the General Manger will assist with the overall supervision and administration of safety accident and fire protection programs to maintain a safe and healthy work environment. Deliver outstanding performance by maintaining a safe and healthful environment for site operation. You will identify and anticipate concerns and hazards and develop and enforce systems policies and ResponsibilitiesLeadership/Safety Culture/ComplianceChampion the Balfour Beatty ZERO Harm CultureDevelop Lead and Execute strategies to drive the site-wide safety culture towards minimizing safety risk and achieving an injury free and drives continuous improvement activities and best lead and oversee the environmental aspect of the facility and the safety programs within the employee empowerment to identify and address safety concerns and generate new ideas related to safety and and participate in employee involvement programs such as project teams committees and internal participate in incident investigations and resulting recommendations for improvement which also includes tracking metrics preparing and filing safety incident reports and applying out safety risk assessments prior to starting a new process including safe installation of equipment through internal and external the NC Star safety programs and related compliance and coordinate Management Training Annual Refresher Training New Employee Training Task Specific Training Independent Contractor and First Aid Safety Training Programs to be presented to all EH&S performance compliance audits to ensure the safety of our workplace and and increase professional knowledge and expertise related to the fields of environmental protection occupational health and industrial safety. Staying up to date with health safety and environmental regulationsConduct safety inspections accident investigation workers compensation reporting and mitigation techniques. Ensure all are properly logged and documentedRoutinely walk the plant reviewing for trip hazards housekeeping issues electrical related risks and other potential safety risk items. Identify and recommend preventative measures and corrective safety boots and prescription safety eyewear programs. Conduct safety inspections accident investigation workers compensation reporting and mitigation techniques. Ensure all are properly logged and & Experience58 years of facility safety experience with at least 23 years in a leadership or management a Bachelors Degree in Occupational Safety Environmental Science Construction Management Engineering or related field (or equivalent industry experience).Strong knowledge of DOT EPA and OSHA industry standards and industry best Certifications: CSP CIH OHST ASP OSHA 30/500 First Aid/ & CompetenciesExcellent leadership communication and decision-making to manage multiple projects deadlines and field with EHS management systems reporting software and Microsoft US drivers licensePhysical RequirementsAbility to walk climb and stand for extended to lift 2550 lbs. as to wear required PPE (hard hat safety boots high-visibility vest gloves fall protection respirator) if UsBalfour Beatty US is an industry-leading provider of general contracting at-risk construction management and design-build services for public and private sector clients across the nation.
