As a Harm Reduction & Recovery Support Volunteer you will play a vital role in helping individuals stay safe access support and move towards recovery.
No two days are the same this is a rewarding opportunity to gain experience build skills and make a real impact in your local community.
What you will be doing
- Providing non-judgmental advice and support around substance use and harm reduction
- Supporting needle and syringe programmes and promoting safe use practices
- Delivering overdose awareness and naloxone training
- Engaging with individuals in services and the community
- Promoting HIV and Hepatitis testing and safer sexual health options
- Encouraging people to access treatment and recovery services
- Assisting with outreach work and community engagement
- Supporting the team with assessments risk management and recovery planning
- Helping maintain a safe environment including safe disposal of used equipment
