Job Summary

Support Worker

We are pleased to announce we have an exciting opportunity here at Potens for a Support Worker

Please note that sponsorship is not available for this role.

Females only due to service needs.

This position is based at our supported living service in Borrowash where we support two ladies with a range of needs including learning disabilities behaviours that are perceived to be challenging non-verbal communication and/or autistic spectrum disorders.

Interviews will be held at our other service in Borrowash.

What youll be doing:

  • Promoting independence with the people we support with all aspects of personal care (verbal prompting) cooking cleaning key working and general life skills.
  • In house activities - baking art/crafts board games sensory activities reading etc.
  • Outdoor activities The people we support enjoy active lifestyles; walking swimming golf pubs trampolining lunch out keeping in touch with families days out shopping etc.
  • This role will also involve you attending educational settings with the people we support.
  • Will include a variation of shifts including 7 am to 2 pm and 2 pm to 10 pm and will also require an additional 1 to 2 sleep ins per week (sleep in rate 67 per night).
  • Weekend and Bank holiday working will be required.
  • Hours worked need to be flexible across a 7 day period.
  • Full flexibility is needed.

Who you are:

  • Females only due to service needs.
  • You will have a minimum of 1 year of experience working in a social care setting.
  • We are looking for a dedicated passionate kind and caring person thats willing to participate in the chosen activities of the people we support.
  • You will need to be flexible with a can do attitude.
  • NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care is desirable but not essential.
  • Previous experience in lone working and with autisim is desirable.
