Job Summary
We have an exciting role on offer within our Access and Safeguarding as a Sensory Support Lead.

The Sensory Support Lead Officer will be based in our West Locality Social Work Team and will work to embed effective sensory support practice access adult social care.
This will involve:
Providing effective line management support and supervision to our Sensory Support Officer and Vision Rehabilitation Officer.
Managing complex sensory support work involving assessment and care management or to co-work complex cases with Social Workers and Social Care Workers.
To Lead and develop the Sensory Champions network within Adult Social Care.
To maintain and update practice guidance for adult social work teams in relation to sensory support ensuring that practice meets the legal requirements of supporting those with a sensory loss.
To be successful in this role you need:
In depth knowledge of sensory loss and the implications for individuals.
Understanding of the legal frameworks in relation to sensory support such as the Care Act 2014 British Sign Language Act 2022.
Substantial experience of undertaking assessments for individuals with complex sensory needs.
Experience of providing advice guidance and mentoring to staff working with individuals and their families.
You will have a responsibility for ensuring the councils response to meeting the needs of those with sensory needs is effective and timely.
