Engineering Lead

Operating within a Design and Build delivery environment you will act as the accountable engineering authority for one or more majorprogrammes leading engineering strategy design assurance riskmanagementand technical governance through the full asset lifecycle.

This role is ideal for a highly experienced engineering leader who can combine technical excellence strategicthinkingand stakeholder leadership to deliver safesustainableand innovative solutions.

Whatyoullbe doing:

• Provide senior engineering leadership across major infrastructureprogrammesand projects

• Act as the accountable engineering authority for scope definition designassuranceand engineering risk management

• Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams across process mechanical electrical instrumentation controlautomationand civil engineering disciplines

• Chair engineering governance forums including design reviews technicalapprovalsand assurance gateways

• Drive technically robustcost-effectiveand low-carbon engineering solutions

• Lead technical assurance across optioneering outline design early contractor involvement detailed design constructioncommissioningand handover

• Ensure compliance with Anglian Water engineering standards Construction Design and Management regulations process safetyrequirementsand operational expectations

• Championstandardisation value engineering designefficiencyand digital engineering across major projects

• Develop engineering capability across Anglian Water partners and suppliers including mentoring graduatesapprenticesand emerging technical talent

• Provide senior technical leadership during incidents and emergency engineering responses where

Whatwerelooking for

• Degree-qualified engineer or equivalent technical qualification and experience

• Chartered Engineer status or actively working towards chartership with a relevant professional institution

• Significant experienceleading major infrastructureengineeringor capital investmentprogrammes

• Strong technical authority across design constructioncommissioningand handover environments

• Proven understanding of water and water recycling processes operationalinterfacesand asset performance

• Deep knowledge of engineering assurance technical governance design riskmanagementand process safety

• Strong understanding of Design and Build delivery including NEC Option C or similar contract environments

• Excellent stakeholder managementleadershipand communication skills with the ability to influence at senior levels

• Ability to maketimely risk-based decisions in complex high-consequence environments

Desirable:IOSH or equivalent health and safetyqualification.Programmeor project management accreditation. Experience in digital engineering Building Information Modelling structured asset informationmanagementor smart infrastructure.
