At One YMCA our Youth Clubs provide safe inclusive and engaging spaces where young people aged 918 can connect learn new skills build resilience and have fun. We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Senior Youth Development Worker to lead and develop our youth provision in Hatfield and the surrounding area.

This is an exciting opportunity to manage an established youth club develop innovative youth work projects and support the growth of our services through the development of new youth provision.

About the Role: Reporting to the Youth Work Coordinator you will play a key role in delivering high-quality youth work activities that support the personal and social development of young people.

You will:
Lead engaging youth club sessions and outreach activities for young people aged 918.
Build positive trusting relationships with young people and support them to achieve their potential.
Plan deliver and evaluate a range of youth work programmes and activities.
Support the development of new youth provision in Hatfield and surrounding communities.
Supervise and support sessional youth workers and volunteers.
Work collaboratively with schools community organisations and other partners.
Maintain accurate records and contribute to monitoring and evaluation processes.
Ensure all activities are delivered in line with safeguarding health and safety and YMCA policies and procedures.

This is a hands-on role that requires enthusiasm creativity strong communication skills and a genuine commitment to improving outcomes for young people.

We are looking for someone who has:
Experience working with children and young people.
A passion for youth work and supporting young people to thrive.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
The ability to motivate engage and inspire young people from diverse backgrounds.
Experience planning and delivering activities projects or programmes.
Strong organisational and administrative skills.
A proactive and flexible approach to work.
A willingness to undertake a Level 3 Youth Work qualification (training and support will be provided).
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.

This is a Part Time role.
Hours per week: 22.5
Working Pattern: 22.5 hours per week - Wednesday and Thursday evenings for dedicated administrative time

  • Therapeutic and non-therapeutic support for male and female victims of domestic abuse and their children
  • Independent sexual violence services across Bedfordshire Luton and Hertfordshire
  • Domestic abuse perpetrator reform programmes across Bedfordshire
  • Youth services offering emotional wellbeing support and youth club opportunities for 11-19 year olds alongside our National Airplay programme funded by the RAF Benevolent Fund
