Senior IT Technician

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Install configure maintain migrate and upgrade Windows Server environments.
• Administer Active Directory including users groups organisational units DNS and Group Policy.
• Configure monitor and test backup and disaster recovery solutions.
• Administer Microsoft 365 environments including Exchange Online Teams SharePoint OneDrive and licensing.
• Provide advanced desktop and end-user support across Windows environments.
• Troubleshoot and repair hardware issues including RAM storage and peripheral upgrades.
• Monitor client environments using remote management and monitoring tools.
• Participate in infrastructure projects migrations and technology refresh initiatives.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation and client records.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior technical staff where required.

Essential Experience & Skills

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on IT support and systems administration experience.
• Strong Windows Server administration experience (2016/2019/2022).
• Solid Active Directory administration skills.
• Proven experience with server migrations and domain migrations.
• Experience implementing and managing backup and recovery solutions.
• Microsoft 365 administration experience.
• Strong desktop support and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Hardware diagnostics upgrades and repairs.
• Understanding of TCP/IP DNS DHCP and general networking principles.
• Knowledge of endpoint security patch management and IT security best practices.

Preferred Experience

• Linux backup solutions and administration.
• Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD).
• Microsoft Intune.
• Experience with RMM platforms.
• Firewall technologies.
• Virtualisation technologies such as Hyper-V and VMware.
• VoIP environments.
