Duties & Responsibilities
Join a fast-growing technology-driven environment delivering cutting-edge data cloud and analytics solutions. The Lead Data Engineer will play a leadership role in designing and delivering modern data platforms including data warehouses lakehouses and enterprise analytics solutions. This role combines hands-on engineering team leadership and strategic delivery offering an opportunity to work on large-scale digital transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design develop and optimise scalable data pipelines and ingestion frameworks
- Build and manage ETL/ELT processes and automated data workflows
- Develop enterprise data warehouses data lakes and lakehouse architectures
- Implement data modelling techniques (star schema snowflake data vault)
- Ensure data quality governance and compliance standards
- Lead and mentor data engineering teams and enforce best practices
- Manage project delivery timelines and technical roadmaps
- Engage stakeholders and translate business needs into technical solutions
Job Experience & Skills Required / Ideal Candidate Profile:
Education
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science IT Engineering or related field
- Postgraduate qualification or certifications advantageous
Experience
- Minimum 8 years in Data Engineering / Data Platforms
- Minimum 3 years in technical leadership or team management
- Experience in cloud data platforms and enterprise data solutions
- Proven delivery in data warehouse lakehouse and analytics projects
Skills
- Strong experience with SQL Python PySpark
- Cloud platforms (Azure Databricks Microsoft Fabric)
- Data integration tools (ADF Airflow orchestration tools)
- Data modelling and architecture expertise
- DevOps CI/CD and version control tools
Non-Negotiables:
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management capability
- Proven experience delivering enterprise-grade data solutions
- Ability to operate in Agile delivery environments
Location: Centurion Hybrid
Contract Duration: 12 Months
