Job Summary

Our client a leading organization in the telecommunications industry is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting and enhancing the SAS Anti-Money Laundering (AML) solution ensuring the platform remains secure scalable and highly available.

Requirements

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science Engineering Information Technology or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
Minimum of 37 years experience in DevOps Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Platform Engineering or a similar role.
Proven experience working within financial services banking fintech or other highly regulated environments with exposure to mobile money platforms being advantageous.
Demonstrated expertise in designing implementing and maintaining secure scalable and highly available infrastructure and application environments.

Technical Competencies

Strong hands-on experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) tools such as Jenkins GitLab CI/CD and Azure DevOps.
Solid Linux/Unix system administration and troubleshooting skills.
Experience administering and supporting SAS platforms preferably SAS Anti-Money Laundering (AML) solutions or SAS Viya environments.
Proficiency in containerisation and orchestration technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.
Strong scripting and automation skills using Bash Python PowerShell or similar technologies.
Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using tools such as Terraform Ansible and ARM templates.
Familiarity with enterprise monitoring logging and observability platforms including Splunk Grafana Prometheus or equivalent solutions.
Sound understanding of networking concepts APIs system integrations and enterprise architecture principles.
Experience working with database technologies including administration performance optimisation and troubleshooting.

Preferred Skills and Experience

Experience supporting M-Pesa or other mobile financial services platforms.
Knowledge of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) fraud detection financial crime prevention systems and regulatory compliance frameworks.
Proven experience supporting SAS solutions within production and mission-critical environments.
Exposure to microservices architectures container-native applications and event-driven systems.
Relevant cloud certifications in Microsoft Azure Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Strong analytical problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
