Construction Manager (Electrical) ()

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise all electrical construction activities on site
• Coordinate subcontractors suppliers and site personnel
• Ensure compliance with project specifications drawings and quality standards
• Monitor project progress against programme and budget
• Conduct site inspections and quality control assessments
• Ensure compliance with Occupational Health & Safety Act and Construction Regulations
• Lead toolbox talks safety meetings and risk assessments
• Liaise with clients consultants engineers and project stakeholders
• Manage procurement and material delivery schedules
• Review and approve method statements and technical submissions
• Prepare progress reports and attend site meetings
• Identify and resolve construction and technical issues proactively
• Ensure testing commissioning and handover requirements are completed

Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements

• National Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
• Trade Test Certificate (Electrician) advantageous
• SACPCMP registration as:
  • Professional Construction Manager (PrCM) or
• Minimum 510 years experience in electrical construction projects
• Experience in medium voltage (MV) and low voltage (LV) installations
• Experience in industrial commercial infrastructure or mining projects advantageous
• Valid drivers licence
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and project planning software

Technical Competencies

• Electrical reticulation and distribution systems
• Medium Voltage (MV) and Low Voltage (LV) systems
• Cable installations substations transformers and switchgear
• Construction planning and scheduling
• Site supervision and contractor management
• Health & Safety compliance
• Quality assurance and control
• Contract administration knowledge (FIDIC advantageous)

• Knowledge of renewable energy or infrastructure projects
• First Aid and Fall Protection certifications
• Experience working with Eskom or municipal standards
