Transportation Management Intern, AWS Cloud Logistics

AWS Cloud Logistics (ACL) is looking for a motivated Transportation Management Intern to join our team in this role you will manage daily shipment allocation decisions based on cost and business need and will be the driver of a transportation research project.

Key job responsibilities
- Shipment Booking & Mode Selection (Daily Operations): Own day-to-day shipment booking decisions selecting the mode of transport and service level that best fit each shipments business need. Weigh cost against speed reliability and delivery requirements to make sound trade-off decisions and build the judgment to route shipments efficiently under real operational constraints.

- Transportation Infrastructure Research (Strategic Project): Drive a transportation infrastructure research project that maps current capabilities constraints and opportunities across the network. Produce analysis and recommendations that leadership can use to influence future supply chain decisions. This project-based deliverable offers clear scope and measurable outcomes making it an ideal high-visibility contribution for an intern.

- Cost & Service-Level Optimization: Analyze the cost and service-level trade-offs behind transport decisions identifying patterns and opportunities to improve how mode and service level are chosen. Translate these findings into practical guidance that keeps daily booking decisions aligned with business priorities.

- Cross-Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Input: Gather input from stakeholders across all levels of the organization to ensure booking decisions and research recommendations reflect how the business actually operates. Build feedback loops and review mechanisms so insights stay accurate and useful well beyond your tenure.

A day in the life
No two days look the same but every day has a rhythm. Your morning might start by working through the days shipment bookings - reviewing what needs to move weighing cost against delivery requirements and deciding the right mode of transport and service level for each one. You then jump into a call with internal stakeholders to align on where your transportation infrastructure research is heading and what decisions it needs to inform. That is followed by a session with an external carrier or logistics partner to understand how the network actually runs on the ground - where the capacity is where the constraints are and what it really costs to move freight.

After lunch you meet with your assigned mentor who helps you connect the dots between your daily booking decisions your research project and the bigger picture of AWSs cloud computing infrastructure and global supply chain. The afternoon is heads-down time on your research project - maybe pulling shipment and cost data mapping lanes and modes or drafting the analysis that will shape how the team makes transport decisions in the future.

Between project sprints you are meeting with teams across different functions and geographies to learn how our end-to-end supply chain operates and how AWS services underpin it. You also have a regular check-in with your manager to review progress remove blockers and discuss your development goals. Most days end knowing you have contributed to something the team will use long after your internship ends - a smarter way to move freight and a clearer view of the infrastructure behind it - and that you understand a little more about how the cloud gets built.

- Currently enrolled in school for bachelor or above degree graduating between Aug 2027 Aug 2028
- Interest and background in business intelligence and data analytics
- Excellent business and communication skills high attention to detail
- Candidates must be able to legally work in Singapore.

- Experience building reports/visualizations via QuickSight
- Experience analyzing structured and unstructured data using SQL
- Experience in Excel as main presentation tool for data sets
- Comfort with ambiguity; ability to be flexible in a rapidly changing environment.
