DESCRIPTION:
Join our collaborative team at Thermo Fisher Scientific where youll contribute to innovation in molecular biology and analytical technologies. As a Staff Scientist youll guide the development of next-generation assays solutions and proof-of-concept studies that advance scientific discovery. Working with advanced technologies and accomplished colleagues youll identify and evaluate emerging analytical methods while building strategic partnerships with academic institutions and industry leaders. Your work will directly impact the biopharmaceutical industry through the development and optimization of sensitive specific and robust analytical assays. REQUIREMENTS:
Advanced Degree plus 6 years of experience or Bachelors Degree plus 8 years of experience
Preferred Fields of Study: Molecular Biology Biochemistry Genetics or related field
Expertise in molecular biology techniques including qPCR dPCR NGS and protein-based analytics
Strong background in assay development and optimization for biologics testing
Experience with laboratory automation microfluidics and high-throughput screening methods
Demonstrated success in new product development from concept to commercial launch
Proficiency in experimental design statistical analysis and Design of Experiments (DOE)
Knowledge of biopharma regulatory requirements and quality systems
Experience working in BSL1/BSL2 laboratory settings
Strong project leadership and cross-functional collaboration abilities
Excellence in written and verbal communication
Proven ability to mentor and develop team members
Strategic problem-solving and innovation capabilities
Ability to adapt to shifting priorities
Up to 25% travel may be required
Experience with data analysis tools (R Python JMP) preferred
Understanding of intellectual property and patent landscape
Strong documentation and organizational skills
