R&D Chemist

Job Summary:

The position will be responsible for applying technical knowledge and develop new or improved products that will provide the Sales Department with the quality of high-performance products that are timely in their introduction and satisfy market segments or niches. Providing technical support to Quality Control Production and Sales personnel for existing range of products..

Job responsibilities:

1. Provide monthly updates on product development projects.

2. Maintenance of Bill of Material (BOM) in ERP system and ensuring any changes are recorded.

3. Coordination with inter company R&D and technical department personnel for development of intercompany products.

4. Evaluation of raw materials alternatives in products.

5. Evaluation of product performance based on inter departmental laboratory request and provide the in house laboratory test report.

6. Investigate and evaluation of product performance issue based on feedback from technical service team.

7. Support in the audit of ISO 9001 ISO 14001 and ISO 45001

8. Provide support to customers using SIKA products and assist sales personnel by providing appropriate technical knowledge to assist in securing sales.

9. Attend site complaints with technical service team for evaluation of root cause.

10. Responsible for good housekeeping in the laboratory and the laboratory is kept clean.

11. Other product development ad-hoc duties as assigned by R&D manager

Qualifications :

Qualifications:

• Diploma or Bachelors degree in Chemistry Chemical Engineering or related field with at least 2 years of experience in manufacturing environment preferably in construction chemical industry
• Strong communication skills and able to collaborate across multiple disciplines
• Strong analytical skills on troubleshooting and problem solving
• Able to generate reports and present technical data
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Experience with SAP environment will be an added advantage
• Fluency in English; additional languages are beneficial
• Candidates without work experience are also welcomed
