Financial Control and Reporting Specialist (Fixed Term Contract)
Job Summary
We are searching for a Financial Control and Reporting Specialist to join a high-performing team offering an exciting opportunity to play a central role in delivering high-quality financial reporting within a fast-moving marketing trading environment. This role combines strong financial reporting expertise with a deep understanding of business operations and process design to ensure both internal and external reporting commitments are met with accuracy and consistency. This role will also help shape and monitor an effective control environment the foundation for reliable insightful reporting. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to continuous improvement influence reporting processes and drive excellence across the Marketing function.
Core Responsibilities (amongst others):
- Support the external and group financial reporting processes across the whole of Marketing leveraging data from internal data platforms consolidation tool HFM as well as other finance and cross functional stakeholders where required. Key deliverables include but not limited to:
- Coordinate prepare and present financial data for tax insurance and statistics submissions
- Prepare and review Group reporting submissions for compliance with IFRS and Group Finance policies.
- Review or prepare statutory financial statements for Marketing entities to ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards in collaboration with finance stakeholders.
- Responsible for the maintenance of a standardised SAP chart of accounts and accounting rules between Commodity trade risk platform and SAP.
- Provides advice to relevant stakeholders about the financial reporting and control implications of new transactions or changes to existing processes
- A key stakeholder in the development of new control requirements and creation of a SOX framework for Marketing entities for end to end trade deal lifecycle.
- Responsible for monitoring and reporting compliance with controls standards in line with UK Corporate Reform and US SOX.
- Key liaison for external auditor as well as internal auditors for financial reporting requirement including controls-related findings (Controls-related tasks will be undertaken in collaboration with and reported to the Finance Compliance Principal.).
- Identify implement improvement and development projects pertaining to Finance Data and Governance processes in collaboration with the Group Finance team.

Qualifications :
- Strong academic background in Business or Finance degree educated with a professional qualification such as CA ACA or CPA.
- Solid experience in financial controls and reporting including exposure to SOX or controls-focused environments and a strong understanding of internal controls over financial reporting.
- Good knowledge of finance processes and process design with the ability to apply data analytics to drive insights improve performance and enhance reporting effectiveness.
- Understanding of financial systems and technology including how tools can enable efficiency and control; working knowledge of SAP and Hyperion is advantageous.
- Proven project management capabilities and experience leading or contributing to complex initiatives (e.g. consolidation) combined with strong communication and presentation skills to influence stakeholders and embed change.
