We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated intern (Mechanical/Electrical/Mechatronics focus) to support equipment maintenance and reliability activities across the site. This role offers hands-on experience in preventive and corrective maintenance equipment troubleshooting reliability improvement and maintenance planning. The intern will work closely with maintenance teams to ensure equipment availability optimize performance and support continuous improvement initiatives. GEAESS is our largest site for engine component Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) responsible for more than 60% of our global repair volume.

Role Overview:
The Equipment Maintenance Intern will support the Equipment Maintenance team in strengthening maintenance operations reliability and continuous improvement initiatives. The role focuses on developing and implementing standard work processes to enhance daily management equipment reliability PM compliance inventory management and workforce capability development. The intern will gain hands-on experience in maintenance management systems operational excellence practices and reliability-centered maintenance while working closely with maintenance technicians engineers and site leaders to improve equipment performance and operational efficiency.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and implement standard work for daily management using the SQDC (Safety Quality Delivery Cost) framework to track and monitor key maintenance performance metrics.

  • Develop standard work processes and operating cadences to improve equipment reliability and PM compliance.

  • Support the development of inventory management standards and systems utilizing the Maximo.

  • Update and maintain the maintenance technician skills matrix identify competency gaps and drive action plans to support workforce capability development.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance maintenance effectiveness equipment uptime and operational excellence.

Ideal Candidate

  • Passionate about equipment maintenance reliability and asset management within a manufacturing environment. Eager to apply engineering knowledge to real-world maintenance challenges and gain hands-on experience in preventive maintenance equipment reliability maintenance planning inventory management and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering Mechatronics Engineering Environmental Engineering or a related discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong interest in sustainability energy management and environmental systems.

  • Basic understanding of industrial equipment and facility operations.

  • Comfortable working with data (e.g. energy usage material flows) and able to perform basic analysis using Excel or similar tools.

  • Willingness to conduct site-level audits and engage with various teams to gather information.

  • Good communication and documentation skills.

  • Familiarity with AutoCAD is a plus.
