Duty Engineer, Crowne Plaza Changi Airport

As Duty Engineer youll assist the Director of Engineering in managing the engineering/maintenance of your hotel and ensure the safety and comfort of hotel guests and team members. Youll become a veteran and perform your duties proficiently. Motivating and training your team with the skills to keep hotels always looking their best.

A little taste of your day-to-day

Every day is different but youll mostly be:

• Recommends to the Assistant Director of Engineering new policies and procedures for a more economical operation and maintenance program
• Participates in the preparation of the annual POMEC Budget
• Supports and initiate programs for the improvement procedures and the reduction of energy and utility costs
• Analyses and monitors energy costs and expenditures for the department
• Works with superior in the preparation and management of the departments budget and is aware of financial targets
• Conducts shift briefings to ensure hotel activities and operational requirements are known
• Interacts and cooperates with other departments when necessary to provide additional or specialized services for functions promotions and festivities
• Cooperates and communicates with other sections in the Engineering department
• Responsible to issues warnings to his subordinates for infringements of Hotel Rules and Regulations
• Responsible for the proper organization and functioning of the energy management function of the POMEC Department
• Ensures all engineering employees follow the Engineering Standards and Procedures as issued from time to time
• Ensures punctual attendance and adherence to duty schedules by all subordinate supervisors
• Conduct on the job training in accordance with the departmental standards and procedures and maintains a record of progress for each staff member
• Provide input for probation and formal performance appraisal discussions in line with company guidelines
• Coach counsel and discipline staff in breach of hotel policies and departmental procedures providing constructive feedback to enhance performance
• Interacts and cooperates with Hotel guests and outside contractors as directed by superior
• Monitoring the ESCAP system
• Demonstrate Awareness of OH&S policies and procedures and ensure all procedures are conducted safely and within OH&S guidelines
• Be aware of duty of care and adhere to occupational health and safety legislation policies and procedures
• Be familiar with property safety first aid and fire and emergency procedures and operate equipment safely and sensibly
• Initiate action to correct a hazardous situation and notify supervisors of potential dangers
• Log security incidents and accidents in accordance with hotel requirements

What we need from you

• A minimum qualification in Diploma in Building Facilities Management
• At least 3 years of experience in the a supervisory level including management experience
