As a Field Service Engineer Customer Engineer at Applied Materials you serve as the direct liaison with customers collaborating closely to install maintain and upgrade equipment. Youll use digital analytics for troubleshooting and apply basic diagnostic techniques to assess and address technical issues. Your responsibilities include performing preventative and corrective maintenance on various systems such as electrical vacuum mechanical plasma hydraulic and gas systems. Additionally youll coordinate and communicate directly with customers to ensure smooth operations and exceptional service.Joining Location - Bangalore India
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with Senior Field Service Engineers Customer Engineers in installing maintaining and upgrading customer equipment
Use digital analytics for troubleshooting
Apply basic diagnostic techniques to assess equipment and address technical issues with guidance from Senior Field Service Engineers Customer Engineers
Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical vacuum mechanical plasma hydraulic and gas systems (training provided)
Coordinate and communicate directly with customers
Participate in projects/assignments in meeting organization goals
Fulfill additional duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
Completion of an Associate degree military technical training field service experience or trade certification
2 - 6 years of work experience in customer/field service support or a related technical field
Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics
Experience diagnosing and resolving basic technical challenges
Basic mechanical aptitude with pneumatics hydraulics electronics vacuum or thermodynamics
Familiarity with hand tools and their appropriate usage including digital multimeters
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel Word and PowerPoint
Possession of a valid drivers license and the ability to obtain a passport if travel is required.
Able to meet all on-site requirements including safety environmental guidelines and customer/Applied protocols
Preferred Qualifications:
2-6 years of work experience in customer/field service support or a related technical field
Associate degree in electronics or engineering technologies
Knowledge of pneumatics hydraulics electronics vacuum or thermodynamics
Familiarity with hand tools and their appropriate usage including digital multimeters
Joining Location - Bangalore India
Additionally this role is expected to require approximately 75% travel within the APAC region during the first two years. Following successful completion of the training and deployment phase employees are expected to be assigned to the Gujarat region in India.
