Detailed Responsibilities

Communications Strategy & Planning;

  • Develop and execute communications strategy in alignment with the regional business stakes and with Group communications objectives.
  • Roll out the Communications functions transformation plan including aligning the region with the target operating model of the function and implementing key Group initiatives.
  • Manage the corresponding Communications budget.

Brand and Content Management:

  • Drive and execute strategic communications initiatives including branding advertising and sponsorship campaigns to grow awareness and exposure of the Thales brand.
  • Promote the Thales brand in all content created including press releases collateral infographics customer reference stories and audio-visual content to support spokespeople or key projects in Singapore and relevant to a local context.
  • Craft key messages / FAQ documents and provide communications counsel to the regional leadership team and business stakeholders to ensure maximum brand exposure and message alignment.
  • Develop online/digital/social media opportunities to raise Thales profile and promote regional business priorities.
  • Ensure consistency of the corporate messaging architecture Thaless visual identity and company branding across all channels.

Events Management:

  • Manage and execute different types of events including exhibitions trade shows seminars conferences customer events and internal events working in close partnership with key stakeholders.
  • Provide communications counsel and direction for local events (e.g. supporting a bid new product launch) creating relevant local messaging and storytelling and working closely with functions to ensure maximum brand exposure and message alignment.

Media Relations & Social Media

  • Serve as the primary media relations and influencer interface in Singapore and for the region working in close relationship with corporate and Global Business Unit teams; In charge of all activities linked to managing Thales image with the local and regional media (print online social radio and television) working in close collaboration with external PR agency to develop messaging for proactive and reactive media outreach.
  • Ensure the development and protection of the companys reputation the consistency of its messages and the promotion of all its businesses aligned with the strategy defined by the Group Communications department.
  • Serve as the Communications lead and contact for crisis communications providing messaging and spokesperson / stakeholder support.
  • Work closely with Digital Communications team to maintain a strong online company voice for Singapore and region through social media websites and all online channels.
  • Stay up-to-date with digital media developments and suggest best channels and disruptive practices.
  • Track budget and agency on their KPIs and deliverables.

Performance Metrics:

  • Provide oversight into the integrity of the Thales brand - Ensure brand templates and guidelines are well-communicated cascaded and used throughout the organisation.
  • Ensure monthly reporting of the scorecard KPI measures.

  • Ensure representation and visibility of regional Communications activities through participation in all relevant network meetings and internal reporting channels.
  • Coordinate and manage timelines and schedules for communications projects.

Internal Communications:

  • Produce content for internal channels ensuring consistency with external communications Groups editorial guidelines and GBU messaging.
  • Communicate internally on Group and local initiatives including success stories for Singapore & Countries in Asia region that foster a strong sense of belonging to the Thales brand and engage employees in the companys mission
  • Facilitate internal communications between business lines staff and develop sense of belonging.
  • Work as business partner with Human Resources team on internal brand recruitment action plans and employee engagement;

The Ideal Candidate

  • Minimum 12 years experience in Corporate / Brand / Strategic communications events management public relations or marketing role developed in-house or at an agency.
  • An exceptional writer in writing in a variety of styles (media releases bylines social media internal stories) with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Agency project and people management experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills the ability to comfortably navigate a complex matrix organisation and collaborate effectively with groups across different management levels geographies and cultures is imperative.
  • Results-oriented creative and meticulous with keen eye for detail.
  • A team player but someone who is self-driven and can work independently with minimal supervision.
  • A degree in Communications or related field; a Masters degree is an advantage you have an ideal previous experience in house communication within a multinational company and/or a PR Agency.
