How You will Make An Impact:

The role is responsible for safeguarding the organisations credit exposure optimising cash collection ensuring accurate financial reporting and receivables governance driving process improvements and leading a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Credit Assessment Credit Management and Accounts Receivable functions.
  • Develop and implement credit policies collection strategies and receivables governance.
  • Lead coach and develop the Credit Risk & Receivables team.
  • Partner with Sales Finance Billing Treasury Legal and business stakeholders.

Credit Management & Collections

  • Drive collection performance and achievement of DSO and ageing targets.
  • Review ageing reports and oversee recovery strategies for overdue accounts.
  • Manage escalated disputes payment negotiations and debt recovery activities.
  • Lead debt review meetings and oversee SOA issuance and customer reconciliations.
  • Monitor doubtful debts and recommend recovery or write-off actions.
  • Accounts Receivable & Reporting
  • Oversee end-to-end Accounts Receivable operations including receipt processing reconciliations and payment allocation.
  • Ensure timely month-end and year-end close activities for receivables.
  • Review BlackLine reconciliations journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Prepare and review bad debt provisions in accordance with accounting policies.
  • Prepare management reports AR ageing analysis cash collection performance dashboards and KPI reporting.
  • Support budgeting free cash flow forecasting and working capital management.
  • Provide accurate reporting and analysis to senior management to support decision-making.

Credit Assessment & Risk Management

  • Assess creditworthiness of new and existing customers using financial statements payment history and external credit information.
  • Review and approve credit limits payment terms and risk mitigation measures within delegated authority.
  • Conduct periodic credit reviews and monitor portfolio risk exposure.
  • Recommend bank guarantees deposits credit holds or other risk controls where appropriate.
  • Balance commercial objectives with prudent credit risk management.

Governance Audit & Process Improvement

  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards internal controls and company credit policies.
  • Lead internal and external audit engagements relating to Credit and Receivables.
  • Drive automation digitalisation and continuous process improvement initiatives.
  • Develop reporting dashboards and enhance operational efficiency.

Skills for Success:

  • Bachelors degree in accounting Finance Business or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Finance and/or Accounting.
  • Experience in Accounts Receivable Credit Assessment Credit Management financial reporting reconciliations and month-end closing.
  • Good understanding of accounting principles financial reporting internal controls and credit risk management.
  • Experience in preparing AR ageing reports bad debt provisions cash flow forecasts and management reports.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (e.g. SAP Citrix); experience with Blackline or similar reconciliation tools is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively across functions.
