Job Summary

Salary Range: 227000 - 295000 SGD base per annum RSUs

Location: Singapore

We are looking for a Product Compliance & Risk Lead to join our APAC Product Squad working in our first line of defence to take our product offering in Asia to the next level by supporting the team in launching new products & services as well as maintaining and upgrading existing products in the region. Your primary focus will be to help the team identify and effectively manage regulatory compliance risk across a range of existing and new products. 

You will be responsible for several markets in Asia leading a team(s) to:  

Launch New Products and Features:

  • Identify which regulations will apply to the new products or features and any risks that need to be mitigated as a result of this to ensure a compliant launch

  • Collaborate with Product Teams throughout the product lifecycle: from design and user testing to launch and post-launch monitoring.

  • Empower Product Teams to take a risk based approach to building products processes and controls.  

  • Collaborate to build practical and customer oriented product solutions while ensuring that the product remains compliant.

  • Identify opportunities to improve our product proposition / competitiveness by thoroughly analysing relevant regulations and challenging existing interpretations and market practice. 

Manage and Mitigate Regulatory Risks: 

  • Identify and manage Regulatory Risks across all Wise products.

  • Perform pre-launch and ongoing risk assessments offering effective advice to Product Managers on existing and forthcoming regulations gaps and risks.

  • Collaborate with colleagues in the Compliance Oversight team (2LoD) to ensure Product Teams are aware of new and upcoming regulations and guidance from Regulators and industry groups.

Maintain an enterprise wide view of risk:

  • Escalate breaches and risks to Compliance Oversight in order to help maintain an enterprise-wide view of Wises regulatory risk environment. 

  • Identify related risk typologies and ensure that the relevant specialist teams (i.e. Financial Crime Treasury Finance) have provided input into the product lifecycle.  

  • Assist Product Teams in developing and maintaining track of relevant risks across their product including mitigation plans action owners and timelines to completion.

Third Party Relationships: 

  • Represent Wise in external meetings with e.g. partners regulators auditors and clearly and effectively articulate Wises product and control framework; 

  • Provide input on regulatory related matters always representing Wise customer-oriented culture while ensuring compliance. 

As a Lead in the team you will also play a key role in contributing to team strategy & culture of the wider APAC team: 

  • Drive the quarterly team plans for your teams ensuring all necessary initiatives are covered and we can provide adequate support to the Product teams. 

  • Align and influence the Product teams plans (both global and regional teams).

  • Contribute to definition scoping and execution of long term plans and objectives for your markets in coordination with other stakeholders. 

  • Act as an example by taking great ownership promoting a healthy feedback culture and building strong relationships with other teams.

 


Additional Information :

A bit about you

  • Technical skills. While you bring a solid foundation in payment regulations your true strength is your learning agility. You have a proven ability to rapidly master complex regulatory landscapes in new markets allowing you to dive into any project and provide immediate high-value support to your team.

  • Previous experience. You have at least 10-15 years of experience working in a 2LoD or 1LoD Compliance or Regulatory role (non-operational) within Payments / Financial Services or as a consultant / contractor in this space. 

  • Fintech focus. You have experience (or interest) in working in a fast-growing technology driven environment. Previous experience in a FinTech or consultancy firm is a plus.

  • Get the job done. Youre comfortable working with a high degree of autonomy and can independently guide your team on evolving priorities. You have a problem solving attitude with the ability to use regulations together with data to drive business decisions. 

  • Leader. You are an effective communicator who doesnt shy away from tough conversations. You navigate conflict to reach consensus and are comfortable making difficult necessary decisions.

  • Team lead. Impactful team lead - you recognize that one size does not fit all adapting your management style to suit individual needs and drive collective success for your team.
