Job Summary

A leading global technology and quantitative research firm is seeking an experienced Tax Specialist to join its Singapore office. This is a newly created standalone role covering the APAC region with a direct reporting line into a global tax function headquartered in Europe.

The Singapore entity is a hub for regional business activity and leadership making this a high-impact high-visibility position for the right candidate.

What Youll Do

You will be the primary tax authority for APAC advising regional business leadership and working closely with global tax and finance colleagues.

Day-to-day this means providing practical business-ready advice across Singapore Australia Japan Hong Kong Korea India and broader Southeast Asia.

Advise on permanent establishment risk transfer pricing withholding tax and GST across the region; interpreting tax treaties (including PPT and LOB provisions) and identifying divergences from the OECD framework; owning technical documentation and tax position memos; monitoring Pillar Two developments across APAC; and supporting expansion into new markets.

This is an advisory-first role. Youll be trusted to give clear advice to non-tax stakeholders under time pressure without a team beneath you in-country.

Requirements

Ideally you trained in a Big 4 environment and have since held an in-house international tax role at a bank financial institution technology company or similar sophisticated organisation. You have genuine depth in PE analysis and treaty interpretation not just awareness of the issues but a track record of taking and documenting positions. Youre comfortable operating in a lean structure and communicating complex tax matters in plain terms to business leaders.

We expect candidates to have 5-10 years of relevant experience though we will consider strong profiles outside this range. Financial services or technology sector background is preferred. Fluent English is essential; experience working with international stakeholders and across time zones is expected.

Compensation is competitive and will reflect the seniority and scope of the role.
