Job Description Summary

Responsible for leading and managing Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) within the Grid Software (GSW) business unit globally. This includes all business activities conducted within GSW facilities and externally for project and service addition this role will include a transversal governance responsibility across GA&S ensuring alignment of GA&S EHS execution and performance against GEV expectations.
The role operates within a matrixed environment working in close coordination with GSW Business and Site Leadership teams and GA Regional EHS Leaders across the organization to drive consistent EHS performance and culture globally.

Job Description

GSW EHS Leadership

  • Develop strong working relationships with the GSW global operational teams and drive expected EHS performance and culture across all business activities including offices customer sites workshops and remote project locations.
  • Drive implementation of GA&S ELEC GE Vernova and regulatory EHS requirements across all GSW activities globally in alignment with GA&S and GEV leading goals.
  • Actively lead and support the GSW global operational teams on all EHS matters including day-to-day needs and challenges.
  • Establish and lead an EHS operating rhythm at the business unit level (incident calls EHS reviews performance dashboards etc.).
  • Ensure all internal and external EHS reporting is completed accurately and on time.
  • Ensure that incidents and other EHS events are properly reported investigated and resolved with adequate corrective and preventive action plans.
  • Consolidate and analyze EHS data and trends at the GSW global level; develop and lead business unit EHS action plans accordingly.
  • Define and oversee a global audit plan aligned with the GA&S and ELEC business model; drive closure of identified gaps and issues.
  • Provide and coordinate required EHS training across GSW ensuring relevance to business activities and alignment with GA&S standards.

Regional EHS Coordination

  • Serve as the primary EHS interface and coordination point between the GSW Leadership and Site teams and the GA Regional EHS Leaders.
  • Leverage GA Regional EHS teams to support projects and services activities within ITO and OTR phases as well as for occasional local/regional support to local GSW teams.
  • Ensure GSW-specific EHS needs risks and priorities are effectively communicated to and addressed by Regional EHS Leaders operating in relevant geographies.
  • Foster a collaborative and aligned EHS community across GSW and the broader GA&S regional network facilitating knowledge sharing best practice exchange and consistent program execution.

GA&S Governance

  • Lead a GA&S transversal EHS governance acting as the focal point for ensuring business compliance with GE Vernova corporate and GA&S EHS policies standards and expectations.
  • Develop maintain and continuously improve GA&S-level EHS governance frameworks processes and tools.
  • Coordinate and drive execution of GA&S ELEC and GEV Governance Audit programs (Cross-Business Audits ISO Compliance audits etc.).
  • Serve as GA&S representative and key liaison with GEV in defined forums.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in engineering environmental science safety management or other EHS-related technical discipline from an accredited college/university is required.
  • Strong experience in EHS program development implementation and leadership within a software environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and build relationships in a matrixed and geographically distributed environment.
  • Fluent in English and Romanian.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 30% of the time.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Strong knowledge of and experience with fundamental health & safety programs as well as within a software environment.
  • Experience with and knowledge of independent standards organizations and certification programs such as ISO 14001 ISO 45001 etc.
  • Strong leadership skills including the ability to influence and motivate leaders and employees through collaborative engagement and building/maintaining relationships.
  • High energy motivation and commitment to take personal ownership of issues and drive them to exceptional outcomes.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate information to a broad range of people and audiences as circumstances dictate.
  • Ability to successfully manage and develop personnel in remote locations and work in a team environment across a multi-site organization with a variety of cultures.
